As a five-star Resort, you will find excellent comfort, convenience, and security for your team. With an array of facilities available, we welcome teams to remain onsite for the duration of their stay. The training pitch and team gym are within walking distance of the five-star accommodation options, which range from spacious hotel rooms to luxurious self-catering lodges. There are meeting rooms, private dining rooms, physio rooms, and kit rooms available, as well as varied running trails around the Resort. There is also complimentary Wi-Fi provided throughout Fota Island Resort and ample private car parks.
The main attraction of this excellent training facility is the pristine playing area, which measures 155m x 130m. This is the equivalent of 2 soccer pitches, 2 rugby pitches, or a GAA pitch the size of Croke Park. The pitch can be watered as requested, the grass length specified, and the viewing platform can be moved as required. Next to the training pitch is the recreation building, housing a high performance gym built specifically to cater for teams, with extra gym equipment available upon request. Recovery requirements are catered for with ice baths, exclusive out-of-hours access to the swimming & hydro pools, and use of our unique ‘walking river’ which utilises water currents and reflexology to revitalise the body.
There is a specific team coordinator dedicated to planning all requirements with each team prior to arrival and for the stay duration. A pitch renovation was conducted towards the end of summer 2020 to elevate the playing surface to an even higher standard. In conjunction with Campey™ Turf Care Systems, our experts worked to rejuvenate and refresh the pitch. This involved stripping the top layer, applying a substantial amount of sand, and then reseeding the pitch with the top varieties of ryegrass.

Our Chefs understand the unique requirements on an athlete’s body and create menus which highlight the specific sport and include the finest produce available.
The Fota Island Tennis Club is located in the midst of the peaceful setting of Fota Island Resort and comprises two floodlit AstroTurf courts.
