Golf Instruction for Beginners and Improvers
This course combines classroom tuition at CSN with practical golf instruction at Fota Island Golf Academy. The course is designed so that four classes will take place at CSN and six classes will take place at Fota Golf Academy. PGA professionals Daniel Crowley and Brian Kelleher will explain many aspects of the game which are sometimes overlooked, including rules, equipment, driving, putting and much more. They will also ensure that you receive first class personal instruction on all the key areas of your game from the tee to green. If you are new to the game or are simply looking to learn golf and improve your technique this course is a must for you.

Ladies Golf & Fitness
Commencing this Spring, this new exciting 10 week programme incorporates fundamentals in golf at whatever your level to improve your knowledge and understanding of the game and techniques, combined with a fitness programme that works on developing a structured programme of exercise for each participant to improve their general fitness. In addition, the fitness programme focuses on flexibility and fitness that will assist in your golf game.

Junior Golf Programme
In conjunction with the Golf Club Committee, the Golf Academy is continuing to advance our work with Junior Golfers – be they academy members or children of members, etc. It is hoped and intended to develop a strong programme of activities within the Golf Academy structure to groom budding young golfers for advancement into Fota Island Golf Club membership – thereby safeguarding the future of the club, providing these children with a fantastic life interest and skill, perhaps win a few inter-club competitions along the way and who knows what else might result…..
With this in mind, we are pleased to launch a series of Junior Golf On-Course Event. These events are targeted at kids/teenagers who have learnt the fundamentals of the golf game – perhaps on one of the YMG or SNAG golf programmes at the Golf Academy or with a parent/guardian and are ready to continue their development on the golf course. The On-Course Event commences with a 1-hour Golf Clinic followed by a 5 Hole on course Golf Competition – complete with Junior Golf Handicap for the day. This event will allow these kids to really bring what they have learnt on to the next level. It is hoped that we will get a few parents and guardians to volunteer to assist in the supervision of the on-course element.
It is envisaged that children/teenagers who successfully participate in this programme can move forward to Fota Island Golf Club Junior Membership in 2010, where a monthly programme of Classes/Clinics & Competitions are planned to be run by the Academy of Junior Members commencing in late January.

Beginners Classes
Individual and Group Beginners Classes start regularily at Fota Island Golf Academy. These are the ideal way to learn the fundamentals of all aspects of the golf game either in a group of your peers or individaully. Your instructor will develop a programme of rountines and drill to assist you develop and practise your game at your own pace under their careful and expert supervision.
