The refurbishment transforms the Smith Barry Suite into a fresh, contemporary sequence of spaces very much about clean lines, elegance and sophisticated luxury. The designs capitalise on its generous floor space, unobstructed views and a large outdoor terrace, bringing in the garden and reflecting all natural light. Moving from the elegant pre-function space with its marble bar through the bright new ballroom and out into the landscaped terrace and lawns is now a seamless journey, enhanced by the modern opulence of the décor.
With an elegantly romantic colour palette of dove grey, silver and white, accented by polished brass fixtures, delicate spiral feature lights, sparkling mirrors and marble and custom made carpets, this tactile and airy series of spaces makes a fitting backdrop to contemporary weddings and special events.
With exciting plans afoot at Fota Island Resort, couples planning their wedding from spring 2020 onwards will enjoy a sparkling new Smith-Barry Suite as a full refurbishment of the ballroom is currently underway, with celebrity interior designer, Hugh Wallace leading the new design. Wallace, a regular judge on RTÉ’s hugely popular Home of the Year, has an exciting vision for the impressive Suite which will focus on maximising the beautiful natural light in the space, while also adding a signature touch of his flamboyant design flair with plenty of sparkle and vibrant pops of colour.
