Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols

Following the latest government announcement  Fota Island Resort will reopen to guests on June 2 2021. The Lodges at Fota Island Resort remain open to accommodate essential travel.

Guest Safety is of the utmost importance at Fota Island Resort. We are continuing to follow all Government Guidelines to ensure your stay is held to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety whilst maintaining a 5 star experience. Importantly, we have worked closely with industry and health authorities to implement an exhaustive health and safety plan to our already thorough procedures so that our guests feel at ease at all times and our employees find a safe workplace.

Our plan involves measures such as employee screening including frequent PCR tests for our team, extensive cleaning and sanitising protocols, limiting accommodation capacities, and offering contactless payment options, amongst others. Our new protocols mean that some services and facilities may be limited at this time. Please see below a sample list of protocols currently in place, we are actively following all Failte Ireland Guidelines which can be reviewed in detail here

 

  • Our specially appointed Covid-19 response team will continue to monitor our Resort safety measures to ensure the health & safety of our staff and guests.
  • Every member of the team has and will continue to be provided with training on safety, sanitation, and physical distancing protocols.
  • All health & safety measures have been reviewed and clear protocols are in place for our team in both public and staff areas. 
  • It is mandatory for all of our team members to wear personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Hand sanitiser stations have been set up in all areas of the Resort.
  • We have introduced a one-way flow management system for customers entering and exiting key outlets. This system will be managed by personnel; with clear signage indicating distancing and directions.
  • All our guest requests will be conducted while adhering to social distancing.
  • High touch points such as elevators, reception counter tops, credit card terminals, and key public areas are frequently sanitized daily.
  • All cleaning standards have been fully reviewed and updated to ensure we have robust, enhanced cleanliness and hygiene practices.
  • Our accommodation team is following closely all protocols & practices to ensure the highest level of sanitation and cleanliness within each guest room & lodge. 
  • If at any stage, a guest or staff member becomes unwell, we have a designated isolation area to reduce the risk of transmission and a doctor is available at any time. 
  • All additional collateral, furnishings, and non-essential items have been removed from our guest rooms and lodges to reduce potential for any cross contamination. 
  • All health & safety measures have been reviewed and clear protocols are in place for our team in both public and staff areas.
